Configuring Google Gemini As an AI Provider in WinSQL

Google Gemini is a good choice for using the AI assistant in WinSQL, as its free tier is often good enough for many users. As long as you have a @gmail.com account, you can use Gemini in WinSQL. This page discusses the steps needed to configure Google Gemini with WinSQL.

Steps

Configuring WinSQL

1. Start WinSQL and connect to your database.
2. Click the AI Chat tab and then the Configure AI button
3. Select Google Gemini as the provider and copy/paste the API Key. Instructions for getting a key are described below.
   

You must create an API key using the following steps:

1. Log in to your Gmail account
2. Visit https://aistudio.google.com/app/apikey
3. Click on the Get API Key button as shown below.
4. Accept the Terms of Service and privacy policy for Google.
5. Click the Create API key in the upper right-hand corner.
6. Copy the generated key to your clipboard
