Restricting Browser Access
For security reasons you may want to restrict access from a browser to Syncrify Server and just allow backups to occur over that port. Following steps demonstrate how to block access from a browser but still allow Syncrify Clients to run their backups.
Syncrify Server can listen on 2 HTTP and 1 HTTPS ports. You can disable access to web browsers on any one of them.
- You must be running build 943 or higher
- Locate
server.properties
file in $INSTALL_DIR\config folder. Create a new
file if it is missing
- Enter the following line towards the end of the file:
Primary HTTP | disallow.browser.for.primary.http=true |
Secondary HTTP | disallow.browser.for.secondary.http=true |
Secure HTTPS | disallow.browser.for.secure.http=true |
- Save the file and restart Syncrify
