Public Link For Viewing Sensitive Documents

Public links in SynaMan allow a foreign user to upload or download files to your SynaMan server easily. In addition to these uploading and downloading links, SynaMan offers a third type of public link that can be used to view documents only. The recipient of these links is restricted from modifying, printing, or using copy/paste operations on the document.

Step To Create A Link

• Log in to your SynaMan server
• Navigate to the desired folder containing files
• Select one or more files.
• Click the right mouse button and select Create Public Links/View. Note - this link will be disabled if a non-supported file is selected.
• Fill out the form, and the system will generate an email containing a URL to the recipient

Supported Document

The following document types are supported when creating such links.

• Microsoft Word (*.doc, *.docx)
• Microsoft Excel (*.xls, *.xlsx, *.csv)
• Microsoft PowerPoint (*.ppt, *.pptx)
• Portable Document Format (*.pdf)
• Plain text files (*.txt)
• Markup languages (*.htm, *.html, *.xml, *.md)

Watermark

You can optionally add a watermark to the document. To modify the value for this watermark, follow the steps below.

• Log in as the administrator
• Click Configuration
• Click Advanced Configuration
• Change the value for the Watermark field. Leave it blank to disable the watermark.

Password-Protected Links

Optionally, you can protect Public Links with a password. When creating a link, specify a desired password. See the image below.
