Introducing Syncrify 5.1

Millstone, NJ - Synametrics Technologies, Inc., a New Jersey-based solutions provider for IT professionals and computer systems developers, has release a major update of Syncrify Version 5.1.

Synametrics Technologies is now introducing an upgraded tool for backing up, synchronizing, and restoring important documents. Syncrify Version 5.1 introduces a variety of new features along with alterations to the web interface to provide for a greater user experience.

There are a multitude of enhancements included in this update. Version 5.1 provides enhanced backup reports in HTML format with graphs in addition to performance enhancements when calculating MD5 signatures. The upgraded web interface will now allow for user’s email address to be displayed in the in the registration screen while the “Remote Client” screen can display build numbers. When backing up on Syncrify Client, users will also see enhanced logging and a Job # for more clarity and efficiency.

For greater security, UPnP has been deprecated. UPnP is a protocol that is designed to automatically open ports into a firewall by a program running inside your LAN. Since no human interaction is required to configure firewalls through UPnP, many pundits on the Internet consider it insecure as any malicious program could use it to change firewall settings. To ensure a greater user experience while also providing the most reliable security, this feature has been removed from all future releases.

All features included in this update are listed below:

  • Enhanced Backup Reports in HTML format with graphs.
  • Performance enhancements when calculating MD5 signatures.
  • Several enhancements are made to the web interface to give a better user experience
  • User's email addresses are displayed in the registration screen.
  • The Remote Client screen display build numbers
  • Enhanced logging during backup on Syncrify Client, which now includes a Job #
  • UPnP has been deprecated for security reasons. An email is sent to the administrator if UPnP is enabled during startup. This feature will be completely removed in future releases.
  • Ability to allow maximum sessions to avoid server overloading.
  • Bug Fix: The Label for Backup button does not get set correctly when direction is Server-to-Client in Syncrify Client GUI.

Syncrify is a private-cloud backup software allowing multiple customer machines to backup folders/files to a central repository within its own enterprise. The comprehensive, multi-platform data protection solution provides 100% security and allows customers to access their files from anywhere at any time. Syncrify also offers across-the-board folder synchronization and an incremental backup feature that intelligently recognizes small changes to larger projects, thereby making backup jobs run faster and more smoothly. Syncrify’s multi-tier backup software has the ability to transfer a modified part within a file, called a delta.

Geared toward a multi-user environment, Syncrify is well suited for situations where source and destination are far apart, like across the Internet. This program allows for files to be accessed from anywhere at any time using a web browser. Syncrify’s backup repository also allows for users to not only backup their data but also share files among colleagues while avoiding any third-party interruption.
