Debug Mode
Debug mode in WinSQL is very useful in finding error messages that
are normally hidden from users during normal execution. When WinSQL is
run in debug mode it creates a file called "debug.log". This file may
contain additional information/error messages that are generated during
execution.
Location of Debug.log file
In version 5.0 or older, this file is created in the same folder
where WinSQL.exe is installed. By default, this folder is c:\Program
Files\Synametrics Technologies\WinSQL
In version 5.5 or above, this file is created in the user's Application Data folder. For example:
C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application Data\WinSQL.
A quick way to open this folder is by clicking File/Open Data Folder on the main menu.
How to run WinSQL in debug mode
There are two ways:
- If you are using version 5.0 or above, click on the "Start" button, select Programs/Synametrics Technologies/WinSQL Debug Mode
- Pass a -g parameter to WinSQL.exe from command line. Refer to the image below.
