Unexpected renewal date
Problem
When support contract is renewed, the renewal date does not match with the original
expiration date. Consider the following example:
Original Support Expiration Date: |
January 15, 2012 |
Today's Date: |
January 07, 2012 |
New Support Expiration Date: |
January 07, 2013 |
Why is the new support date January 07 and not January 15?
Explanation
Calculating support renewal cost in Syncrify involves some complicated math.
To keep matters simple, we always renew the contract for 365 days and give you credit
for days that are not used in terms of discounts. Therefore, even though it appears your
contract should have expired 8 days later, you did not pay for these 8 days.
Example
- Assume you purchased a Pack of 100 licenses for $1,960 on January 15, 2015.
- 40% of $1,960 is $784.
- If you renew your contract 8 days earlier, you will be paying around $766.82 and your next contract
will expire 8 days earlier.
